High Quality Musicians
MASTER BOOT RECORD/KEYGEN CHURCH
Loud. Heavy guitars, pounding drums, soaring organs, and all of it is drenched in synthetic crunch. Music for working, drawing, playing violent games, imagining the destruction of swathes of vicious foes while you walk around town...It's the sort of music that would play in the temple of any god I'd even remotely consider worshipping.
Ghost
Easy to listen to, fun to sing along with. Fun, silly, Halloween-y, but filled with a strange sort of power. A band that asked "What if the Satanic panic was for real, and it slayed?" Been into them since high school. The old stuff was heavy and mystical. The new stuff is retro and fun to belt. Either way, fun!
Tub Ring
Experimental punk rock. One of my long-term favorites (early high school?). Lots of references to science (even the album names!) and interesting song lyrics.
Brand of Sacrifice
Heavy, violent death metal with great vocals.
Aether Realm
A death/heavy metal band that makes you feel like a cool wizard on a quest.
Rinse and Repeat
A fun, weird little band.
Shock Therapy
Another fun, weird little band with an odd nautical theme?
Tally Hall/Miracle Musical
I used to stream these guys on Grooveshark back in the early 2010s and I've liked them ever since. Slow, thoughtful, and cryptic.
the pAper chAse
Bit gruesome, bit discordant, but it hits just right when you're in an edgy sort of mood.
They Might Be Giants
They might have a huge body of work where it's virtually impossible to find a bad song. I only listen to about 12 songs of theirs regularly.
Neil Cicierega/Lemon Demon
Another guy with a huge body of work. Silly, strange, interesting work. His first four albums are underappreciated for just how fun they are. He also makes great soundclown style mashups.
Soundtracks
Destiny
Michael Salvatori.
Minecraft
Duh.
The Pathless
I've never heard anything quite like it. Beautiful.
